Long time no see.. or hear or read or ..you know..
Finally, I’m back from my summer adventure in Brighton and I can tell you that I’m more than exhausted and tired..but still..it was worth every minute.. I got to know so many incredibly nice and unique people..each of them carrying their own experiences and dreams in their backpacks…and I’m so thankful for that.
Yes, backpacks, shirts, and raincoats in magenta and navy blue accompanied me while I was spending time with students from different European countries, exploring the Pier, the Lanes or the Royal Pavilion..
I can only suggest to go there and explore the city on your own cause there’s so much to see and do and you can find different cultures clashing. China, India and the US are only three of many countries which are influencing Brighton’s architecture and interior design.
Still, Brighton is very British..otherwise it would not be called “London by the sea”. It can even offer a small version of the famous “London Eye” which is situated next to the Pier.
In Brighton I also had to cope with my coffee addiction, as I’d rather skip breakfast than having instant coffee for breakfast..so I had to find an alternative. I was very glad when I realized that English Breakfast Tea with milk is a very satisfying substitute for a freshly brewed cup of coffee. Back in Vienna I’ll try to stick to that in order to reduce my coffee consumption a tiny little bit.
Additionally, I fell in love with scones for the first time. My Australian/Scottish friend V was looking at me in astonishment when I told her that I had never had these little tea cakes before. But they were so tasty that as soon as I got back to Austria I tried to copy them.. The result was pretty close to the original scones which I had in Brighton. Though, I’m not yet so satisfied with my recipe that I’m ready to share it with you..but I’m working on it 😉
Now I’m getting back into my routine..although I’m not sure if there’s so much routine in my life anyway.. Still..I do those things which I’ve done before and which I love doing..
It’s nice to be back and meet my friends for brunch and little talks but at the same time I’m looking forward to my next journey which is coming soon.
